The butt plate has patina and a drizzle of light oxidation and handling marks. The sights have built spots of oxidation. The edges of the frame and barrel have some thinning, the magazine tube and slide arm have operational wear. The balance of the finish shows scattered areas of light surface oxidation with instances of pin prick erosion and the barrel is shifting to plum patina. Overall Condition: This rifle retains about 75% of its metal finish. Type of Finish: Blued, with case colored butt plate screws.įinish Originality: The finishes are original.īore Condition: The bore is bright and the rifling is highly pronounced with a small amount of wear. The stocks rate in about Very Good overall condition. The LOP measures 13 ¾” from the front of the trigger to the back of the crescent carbine-style metal butt plate the plate has some spots of oxidation and finish thinning, rating in about Very Good condition. The wood at the frame has darkened from handling and there is a dark spot by the inlet portion of the butt plate on the left flank. There are a few scattered light marks and a small unrepaired crack at the butt plate on the right flank. The butt stock has a semi-pistol grip the varnish looks to be original, though there are oddities to the texture, indicating a bit of solvent or some other material had come into contact with the stock at some point this resulted in some of the varnish having been lifted off of the wood. The forend has grooves for traction and shows a few faint compression marks. Stock Configuration & Condition: The stocks are a two piece walnut set with nice wood to metal fit and grain variation. The slide-step elevator base is marked from 1 to 5 for elevation adjustment. The front sight is a long blade with rounded edges and a serrated rear face, integral to a base that is dovetailed onto the barrel and the rear sight is a “U” notched leaf in a buckhorn base that is slide-step adjustable for elevation the leaf is screw set and micro-adjustable for elevation.
